Artist's Statement
Every piece of art that I make is a piece of my time, my energy, my Self. In this particular work entitled Energy, I am expressing a flow, a growth, and passage of time. I prefer to focus on creation, rather than destruction, though I understand the necessity for both.
I am interested in how different materials interact with one another in form, texture, and color. I enjoy using bright colors, which convey vibration and a flow of energy, juxtaposed with more neutral tones. The smoothness of the wood, and the pools and cascades of glass contrasting with the roughness of the metal, create a confluence of textures that embody a unique form and beautiful energy.
